Simmer Pot Spices
For the simmer pot:
Warmly fragrant and spicy with cinnamon and cloves, a simmer pot can add a special touch to your home during the holidays. Combine the spices in the bag with a slice or two of fresh apple or orange or citrus peels and cranberries, cover with water and simmer at a low temperature on the stove all day. Keep adding water to cover the contents of your saucepan. You can use it again for several days - just add water to cover before gently cooking. When you've finished with the spices, simply add them to the compost and start again.
Each bag contains cinnamon bark, whole cloves, anise stars, black cardamom pods, and dried ginger.
For a dried potpourri bowl:
Place the dried spices in a pretty bowl with dried citrus slices, pinecones, fir branches, and pretty ornaments.
